Kids Cooking Green is a weekly, hands-on culinary program designed to educate children on nutrition, making healthy food choices, the benefits of using local ingredients, and what food means in a social context in our culture.
Kids in grades 3-5, come cook with Kids Cooking Green, for 5 weeks beginning Tuesday September 11 from 1:30-3:00. Let's turn local New England ingredients into something wonderful. Kids will make and eat what we cook in class, and go home with the recipes so they can recreate in your home kitchen. They will learn to slice, dice, chop and saute and create nutritious and delicious recipes at each class. Menus to include Sushi Rolls, Corn and late summer Tomato Salad with Torn Croutons, Smashed Broccoli & Potato with Lemon & Parmesan Cheese, Pumpkin Waffles served with Apple Compote, and more! Class limited to 16 kids, minimum of 12 needed to hold the class. 5 week session, each class is 1 1/2 hours.
Cost is $ 180. per child and this includes a $ 20 per child food cost.
